Interlocking Discs:

These discs are not glued together and fit together like a puzzle, allowing the child to practice fine motor skills. The discs also rolls for movement when linked together.

Each disc has a diameter of about 2 3/4″ and is about 1/2″ thick.

Each disc is finished with a natural homemade blend of beeswax and oil.

Palmer/Pincer:

The palmer is created to help the child develop their palmer grasp, or rather whole hand grasp. Using their palmer grasp, they pull the cylinder out of the base. As they learn, and attempt, to place the cylinder back into the hole, they develop hand-eye coordination and control. This material may often be introduced as early as 8 months.

Inspired by Montessori’s knobbed cylinders, the pincer grasp generally develops after the palmer grasp. Working the small muscles in their hand, this helps develop fine motor skills which will assist in other levels of dexterity, such as writing and buttoning clothing. As with the palmer, the pincer aids in developing hand-eye coordination and control. This work may be introduced as early as 9 months, or once the child shows interest in pinching.

Included is two blocks made from Red Oak and two cylinders.

Made of solid Red Oak and Poplar.

Sealed with a natural and non-toxic beeswax and oil finish
